After administrating and teaching in several Christian schools, John and Jan Walsh decided to teach their children at home. Jan was delighted with the way home schooling helped her get to know and understand her children. John felt driven to share the how-to's of home schooling with others. In 1982 they founded Midwest Christian Academy with a goal of elevating the quality of home education and making it more rewarding for children and parents alike. For over 20 years, their desire to help other families meet the challenges of homeschooling has not diminished. All their children are now grown, but the Walshes are thrilled to have their grandchildren enrolled in MCA.
Fred and Elaine Moore have years of experience in Christian education. For 25 years, Fred pastored a church in the Chicago area where he founded a Christian school. He and Elaine worked side-by-side in the school where they had the privilege of teaching all six of their own children as well as many others. Their children are now grown and actively serving the Lord today. In 1997 Fred came to serve as Principal of Midwest Christian Academy and Elaine became the Office Manager. Their years of experience in individualized education prepared them for understanding the unique needs of home schooling parents. The Moores are delighted to have several of their grandchildren enrolled in Midwest Christian Academy.

Lois Shaw, Receptionist and Video Clerk - keeps records of video rentals; processes new enrollees.
Cindy Walters, Registrar - educational consultant for parents whose name starts with Mo-O and R-Z; academic support
Elaine Moore, MCA Office Manager - educational consultant for parents whose name starts with A-F and P-Q; coordinates office procedures; learing-to-read consultant.
Fred Moore, Principal - counsels MCA families and prospective families; supervises MCA program; academic support; processes transcripts.
